I'm the nostalgia and property writer for The Gazette. I've worked in local journalism for 31 years, starting my career at the Fleetwood Weekly News before moving to The Gazette in the early noughties and I'm lucky to have a job which I love. During those decades, I've written about local issues, covered breaking news, the stories which matter to you, human interest and even dabbled in photography.
But these days it's all about nostalgia and of course, our property market. Nostalgia is where my heart is. I worked with a reporter 20 odd years ago who looked after the 'Memory Lane' pages and I knew that was something I wanted to do in the future. And here we are.
I love reminiscing, nothing better than talking with a friend about past times, the funny things that have happened and how life has changed. We have reshared thousands and thousands of photos from our archives at The Gazette and through this nostalgic content we have been able to share memories and remind ourselves how great our town is.
I was born in Blackpool, I live here so I know the place inside out. I am married with three teenage boys, who keep me on my toes, and I love the outdoors. Apart from Blackpool, of course, my favourite place in the world is the Lake District followed closely by Norway.
I appreciate the simple things in life and enjoy nothing more than walking my labrador on the beach. It clears my head and makes me appreciate how fabulous our corner of the world is. I'm always interested to hear your stories, your memories of Blackpool and anything you would like to share with a nostalgic twist.
