'I'm a Preston fan now' - Preston's fish & rice cake star takes influencer fiancée to Deepdale

'This is not a good day to start supporting Preston'

A video of a Preston influencer taking his equally as well known fiancée on a date to Deepdale has gone viral.

Fulwood barber shop owner Danny Andrews, 37, became a 16-year-old viral sensation after a 2007 documentary - Baby Faced Body Builders - showcased his unsual fitness regime of eating fish and rice cakes at regular intervals throughout the day.

Later in life, Barrow born Danny has featured in various reality shows, the most recent of which he has to thank for meeing ‘the love of his life’, Bristol-based social media manager Sadie Bass.

The pair met on Channel 4’s Love Triangle in 2024 and two years later, they’re now engaged, sharing much of their life on social media where they boast a combined 268.6k followers on Tiktok and 13.8k followers on Instagram.

In a post shared by Sadie this week, the Bristolian revealed that herself and Danny- a Manchester United fan- treated themselves to hospitalilty at the Preston North End vs Sheffield United game on Tuesday night.

In overlay text on Tiktok, Sadie asked ‘Is it rude to live in Preston and NOT support PNE?’ whilst on Instagram she wrote: “POV: You’re a London girl trying to become a Northerner”.

The video starts with the pair walking to the stadium as Sadie tells the camera: “This is going to be the decider of whether I'm going to support Preston or not. We're against Sheffield today. They're the ops today.”

She then starts to say “Come on the-” but stops and turns to Danny to ask “what do we call Preston?”

When the now honorary Prestonian replies “Lilywhites”, Sadia shouts “Come on the Lilywhites”.

Inside the hospital suite, the pair enjoy a drink as Danny says “Got my beer, watching football - I've never felt so manly.”

As they go up to get food, a cheeky Preston server says to Danny: “We’re really sorry to tell you, there’s no fish and ricecakes today”

Sadie meanwhile lathers her roast dinner in gravy as she tells the camera: “Another integral part of becopming northern is gravy, okay? If you don't put this on your food, you're actually not allowed to live here. You're not allowed to support Preston.”

Sadie then films as she and Danny are taken down to where the players and managers sit with Sadie exclaiming “We're like practically on the pitch. It's actually insane.”

She then says she is manifesting a Preston win but as the video goes on, we watch as the evening does not quite go to plan.

When Preston at first take the lead, Sadie says “We're 1-0 currently, guys. So, I think we've got a good chance of winning. I don't know any of the chants everyone's singing, but I'm trying to get involved.”

In the next clip, Sadie says “gutted” as Sheffield equalise and just ten minutes later, with her head in her hands, she says: “ Sheffield have scored again....Oh my god. This is stressful. This is not a good day to start supporting Preston, I'm telling you, they are putting me through it.”

In the 76th minute, the couple’s cheers as Preston score to take them to 2-3 prove to be the last cause of celebration as the game ends with that score.

Deflated in the car ride home, Sadie says “We bloody lost, guys. We lost. Gutted, mate. Gutted. But we got the two scores, safe to say. I'm a Preston fan now.”

After a disagreement with Danny on whether you say scores or goals, she then corrects herself to say: “We got two goals and I'm a Preston fan now. I know this is going to be a whirlwind. It's going to be a long, hard journey for me.”

Danny then chips in “We're not glory supporters, obviously” before praising his fellow Prestonians: “Football fans, they get a bad rep but I felt like everyone was very, very, very friendly and I felt like I was-”

“part of a community”, finishes Sadie.

Danny then ends the video, which has amassed 383k views across Instagram and Tiktok combined by exlaiming: “ I feel like I'm going to buy a Preston top, I'm not going to lie to you.”
