A legendary DJ, widely regarded as ‘the Godfather of British house music’, is coming to Preston next year.
Acid house pioneer Danny Rampling, one of the most influential figures in British dance music, has been announced as the headline act for Unlocked’s opening event of 2027 at Chew’s Yard.

Revealing their headliner news for the event, Chew’s Yard said: “Few names carry the weight and influence of Danny Rampling.”

Londorn born Danny played a pivotal role in bringing acid house culture to the UK and now he’s bringing his decades of dancefloor history to Preston.
In 1987, he founded Shoom, the UK’s first Balearic rave club, in Southwark and his legendary Shoom nights helped spark a musical and cultural revolution that would transform the British clubbing landscape forever.
From those groundbreaking early days at the forefront of the acid house movement, David has gone on to perform on every continent, spending decades taking his unmistakable sound and passion for electronic music to dancefloors around the world.

“Still travelling, still playing and still inspiring generations of music lovers, [Danny’s] contribution to electronic music is immeasurable. The word pioneer simply doesn't do him justice.
“Now, Preston gets the opportunity to experience a genuine dance music legend behind the decks.”
Joining Danny will be local favourite Tony Cannon, alongside a couple of special surprises in the support line-up, promising a memorable night for house music fans and clubbers alike.
Tickets are available now on Skiddle, with early booking strongly recommended.
