With the news that more shops in Leyland are set to close their doors for good, it bares remembering what the town centre used to look like back in the day.

And so here are some of our best retro archive pictures of the sights and faces which characterised Leyland back in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s.

5. The oriental art of self defence has fought its way into Hutton village, near Preston.
