Five fantastic Rainbow Hub runners smash Landmarks Half Marathon raising over £5,000 for the charity
Five fantastic runners, including Rainbow Hub CEO, Lyndsay Fahey, smashed the London Landmarks Half Marathon raising over £5000 for the Mawdesley based charity supporting children and young people with physical and neurological disabilities.
The event took place on Sunday April 11 starting at Whitehall and taking in the sights of London including St Paul’s Cathedral, Tower of London, Bank of England, Royal Courts of Justice before finishing in Trafalgar Square.

The five runners were Lyndsay Fahey, Jo Barber, Sam Livesey, Amanda Berry and Kirsty McLaughlin.
It was a first time for Lyndsay who said: “Nerves were well and truly kicking in before the start and I still can’t quite believe I did it. I’ve never experienced anything like it. The atmosphere, the crowds, the music, the cheering and words of encouragement were on another level. I can’t put into words how incredible the whole experience was. Thanks to Sam who was with me every step of the way; Mark Fahey and Tony Livesey for tracking us round the route but the biggest thanks go to all those who sponsored me."

She continued,: "My daughter Phoebe, who benefitted from the services at Rainbow Hub, together with all the other children and families were my inspiration. As difficult as the half marathon was for a non runner like me, it was nothing compared to some of the challenges our children and families go through.”
Emma Parish, Corporate Events and Relations Manager, Rainbow Hub, said: “Huge congratulations and thanks. We couldn’t be prouder especially of our CEO for taking on this challenge with such determination and positivity inspiring us all. From training to race day, every one of you has truly embodied the spirit of Rainbow Hub. Thank you for going the extra mile – and some – to help us continue to brightening the lives of the children we support.”
On of the group, Kirsty McLaughlin, whose son Oscar attends Rainbow Hub took on the challenge with determination and is not stopping there. She has already signed up for a 30 mile ultra marathon in September. If you would like to support her journery, go to https://www.justgiving.com/page/kirsty-mclaughlin-3
