Shoppers were evacuated from Tesco's Leyland Extra store after its fire alarm sounded yesterday.
The supermarket was forced to temporarily close on Sunday morning, with customers having to abandon their shopping in trolleys and at checkouts.
Tesco said the alarm was triggered in error and there was no fire. The store reopened shortly afterwards.

Home deliveries cancelled
Tesco’s home delivery service was also disrupted, with orders cancelled throughout the day and into the evening. Tesco said a small number of online orders had to be cancelled due to the store team being unable to access the building during its brief closure.
Some customers said they were only notified an hour before their delivery was due, while others were told they could collect their shopping from the store.

Tesco has apologised and said the Leyland Extra store is now operating as normal.
A Tesco spokesperson said: “Our Leyland Extra store is open as usual following a brief closure yesterday morning. We are sorry for the inconvenience.”
The supermarket said customers whose deliveries were affected had been offered the option of collecting their shopping through its Click + Collect service at their local store.
Tesco added that whenever it needs to amend or cancel a customer's delivery slot, it will always try to make contact to discuss alternative arrangements.
