Award-winning comedian Ian Stone brings new show to Darwen
Award-winning comedian Ian Stone is bringing his latest stand-up show, Looking for the Wow, to Darwen Library Theatre
The comedian, broadcaster and writer is currently touring the UK with the show, which sees him on a hilarious search for some of the magic that can be missing from everyday life.

Originally due to finish in June 2026, the tour has been extended through to December following its run across more than 40 towns and cities.
Ian, who has appeared on Mock the Week and Never Mind the Buzzcocks, says the show's central question is simple: why can't life be a little more exciting?
“I love that people are coming to see the show, so I thought why not do more of them?” he says.
“There has to be more to life than the humdrum and the routine. Why can’t we sneak in a hint of awesome, a tad of amazing, and maybe a smidge of wonderful?”
Ian is known for his sharp observational humour and has been described by The Guardian as “seriously funny”, while The Independent has ranked him among the top ten stand-ups in Britain.
He won the prestigious Spirit of the Fringe Award in 2023 and is also a regular broadcaster and podcaster. Away from stand-up, Ian presents a twice-weekly Arsenal podcast Handbrake Off for The Athletic. He is also the author of To Be Someone, published in 2020.
With more than 90,000 followers across social media, Ian has built a sizeable online audience, with his posts attracting millions of views.
Looking for the Wow comes to Darwen Library Theatre on Thursday, November 19 2026.
