Fire crews tackling huge moorland blaze near Burnley

Firefighters from Burnley are currently extinguishing a moorland blaze on moors near Widdop Reservoir, Heptonstall, Hebden Bridge.

Smoke from the fire can be seen for miles around. Crews from Lancashire and West Yorkshire rushed to the scene after the fire broke out at 12-25pm today and are urging people to avoid the area.

Shaun Walton, Group Manager, Lancashire Fire and Rescue has tweeted about the incident saying: "Crews from @LancashireFRS assisting @WYFRS to deal with large wildfire near Widdop Reservoir. Please avoid the area @ NW_Fire_Control."
