New JD Wetherspoon pub to be unveiled at Fylde coast holiday park - with this special name
A new J D Wetherspoon pub is to open at a Fylde coast holiday park.
Haven has announced that the venue will open at it’s Cala Gran site near Fleetwood, as part of a £9m investment across the country - and it has a special name.
The Springfield at Haven’s Cala Gran holiday park will be named after Springfield House which stood on what is now the main entrance to the park in the 1960s.
An opening date has not yet been given.
£9m investment
Three other Wetherspoon’s will open at sites in Norfork, Cornwall and Cumbria.
The first pub to open is The Alfred Wainwright at Haven’s Lakeland holiday park in Cumbria. Named after Alfred Wainwright, the British fell walker, his maps have become the standard reference work for the Lake District’s 214 fells.
Cornwall-based holiday park, Riviere Sands will see its new J D Wetherspoon pub, The Bluff, retain its original name which refers to the steep bank or cliff edge where the venue is located, offering prominent views over the coastline.
And finally, guests and owners can enjoy Haven’s Hopton new J D Wetherspoon pub, The White Clover named after the flower grown across the county representing good luck.

Simon Palethorpe, Haven’s, CEO said: “Our partnership with J D Wetherspoon continues to grow. With a record four million holidaymakers and owners due to take a Haven holiday in 2026, the UK coastal holiday shows no signs of slowing down.
“The naming of the J D Wetherspoon pubs is highly anticipated and always reveals an interesting historical, geographical or cultural reference to the area. We look forward to more guests enjoying a pint whilst taking in some of the most beautiful views of our UK coastline.”
Joe Argyle, Senior Commercial Manager at J D Wetherspoon said, “Our partnership with Haven continues to go from strength to strength. Its J D Wetherspoon pubs have proven extremely popular across all age groups, and we look forward to continued success with Haven.”
Marton Mere investment
Since 2021, Haven has invested £660 million upgrading the guest experience and facilities. Haven will also renovate the Show Bar at Marton Mere in Blackpool.
