More than half a million pounds to tackle knife crime in Lancashire
The money will go towards violence reduction initiatives across Lancashire.
More than half a million pounds will be put towards a knife crime crackdown in Lancashire.

£600,000 will be put towards tackling knife crime in what they believe are the most at-risk hotspots of the county.
This week, representatives from policing, local authorities, education, criminal justice, health and community organisations came together to discuss how to tackle violence and prevent issues from taking root.
Lancashire Police have now said they have developed a ‘targeted delivery plan’ which will see them put more funding towards Lancashire’s Violence Reduction Network to more directly address the root causes of violence.
“Knife crime cannot be tackled by policing alone,” said Police and Crime Commmissioner Clive Grunshaw.
“Through my Violence Reduction Network, partners from across policing, education, health, local authorities and the voluntary sector are working together to identify risks, intervene early and prevent harm before it occurs.
“Behind every knife crime statistic is a victim, a family and a community affected by violence. Through collaboration, intervention and enforcement activity, we can ultimately reduce harm and ensure Lancashire remains one of the safest places to live, work and visit.”
