SpudBros give away hundreds of free jacket potatoes for International Potato Day

SpudBros is celebrating International Potato Day with a major giveaway, offering hundreds of free jacket potatoes across its Express sites in a limited-time rush for customers.

SpudBros is marking International Potato Day with a large-scale giveaway that is expected to draw crowds across its Express locations today, as the Preston-born brand continues to lean into its viral popularity.

The brand will hand out 100 free jacket potatoes in Blackburn on Saturday, May 30, to celebrate the International Day of the Potato.

From opening time, the first 100 customers at each SpudBros Express store will receive a free jacket potato, adding up to around 700 free spuds across all participating sites.

The promotion is available on a first-come, first-served basis with the company warning that demand is likely to be high.

The giveaway reflects the brand’s ongoing strategy of using high-energy promotions and social media buzz to engage customers, a formula that has helped turn a simple baked potato concept into a widely recognised street food name.

Known for its generous portions and loaded toppings, SpudBros has built a strong following online, where its content regularly attracts millions of views.

Customers are being encouraged to arrive early if they want to secure a free portion with the brand hinting that the limited numbers could be snapped up quickly.

Previous pop-up events and promotional days have often seen long queues forming well before service begins.

International Potato Day provides a fitting backdrop for the stunt, reinforcing the company’s playful branding and its focus on celebrating a British staple in a modern, fast-paced way.
