6. This gyroglider, called Gremlin, was created by Preston Postman James Worrall and took to the air on June 4 1967. It took a speed of 20mph to get the propeller spinning fast enough to launch it into the air. The tether limited it to a height of 150ft and, according to a cutting from the archive, James hoped to fit an engine.
