New Perry's Vinyl Cafe opens this weekend in Chorley with coffee, cakes, records and live music

Perry's Vinyl Café, honouring a musical legacy, is opening in Chorley with live music and a vast vinyl collection.

A new café with a difference is preparing to welcome music lovers on Saturday (25 July), when it opens its doors in Chorley.

Perry's Vinyl Cafe will offer customers bakes and brews, as well as the opportunity to browse rows of new and classic vinyl for sale at the new Chapel Street venue.

The sold-out launch event on Saturday will feature live music from Manchester five-piece band Gustaffson, with the venue planning to host regular live music events across its two floors.

Speaking ahead of the launch, Perry's Vinyl Cafe owner Eric Perry said: “We specialise in new vinyl and the latest releases, and we also have a large selection of pre-loved vinyl.

“We're going to feature amazing live music regularly, with bands and singers performing here.

“We've got a sold-out event for our opening night with Manchester band Gustaffson, and tickets sold out within a few hours of being announced, which is fantastic. It's really exciting, and we have more gigs lined up for September and October, so keep an eye on our website for upcoming events.”

Vinyl has seen a resurgence in popularity in recent years, with sales rising for almost two decades.

Earlier this year, Malcolm Allen, who ran Chorley’s much-loved Malcolm’s Musicland record store, sadly passed away.

Perry's Vinyl Cafe is named in tribute to Eric's late father, John Perry, and aims to continue the musical legacy of Chorley favourite Malcolm’s Musicland.

Eric said: “Malcolm's Musicland was clearly loved by many people. Malcolm was a massive influence and a big presence in Chorley, and he is very much missed. Many people have said how happy they are to see a new business and a place to buy vinyl in Chorley.

“Perry's, apart from being my last name, is also a tribute to my late father John. He really was a massive musical inspiration to me.

“When I was a kid, he would bring me records home all the time and take me to gigs, which gave me the chance to explore music. I feel that the name Perry's really does hold a lot of weight for me.”

More information on opening times, live music and new vinyl releases is available via Perry's Vinyl Cafe’s social media channels or its website: www.perrysvinylcafe.co.uk.

Perry's Vinyl Cafe is set to open at 43 Chapel Street, Chorley, on Saturday, 25 July 2026.
