‘What a day’: Mayor praises Garstang Show as 2027 return confirmed

Organisers have confirmed the hugely popular Garstang Show will return next year after thousands of visitors flocked to this year’s event and the town’s mayor praised staff and volunteers.

Garstang Mayor Sandra D Perkins praised the “dedication” of staff and volunteers following the annual agricultural show, which took place on Saturday, August 1.

The mayor congratulated “all those involved”, acknowledging the hard work and dedication that went into making Garstang Show one of the highlights of the town’s event calendar yet again.

The event, organised by the Garstang and District Agricultural and Horticultural Society, featured big top entertainment from Astral Circus, animal-themed displays and competitive events, vintage machinery and fairground rides.

In the message, Garstang Mayor Sandra D Perkins said: “I have to congratulate all those involved in the wonderful Garstang Show. What a day.

“Beautiful animals, friendly traders, incredible entries in the craft and horticulture marquees and above all the hardworking volunteers in all parts of the ground.

“I am so pleased the weather was kind to allow the public to enjoy all your hard work.

“Without the dedication of the staff and volunteers the show could not take place so thank you each and every one for making the day perfect.”

Organisers have already confirmed that next year’s show will go ahead, with the date set for August 7, 2027.

A spokesperson for Garstang Show also thanked everyone involved, saying: “It's been lovely to see so many people enjoying the sunshine and having fun at what has been a fantastic show!

“A huge thank you to everyone who made Garstang Show 2026 a day to remember.”
