Morecambe will hit the road in round two of this season’s FA Trophy
NPL Premier opposition await the Shrimps in the FA Trophy next month.
Morecambe will kick off their FA Trophy campaign at NPL Premier club Leek Town in the second round next month.
Monday afternoon’s draw handed the Shrimps a trip to Staffordshire with the match scheduled for Saturday, November 14.
It is one of 40 ties due to take place that weekend, with progress also worth £3,750 in prize money and £1,000 for the losers.
Leek, who are 16th in the NPL top flight, have already won two matches to reach this stage.
They defeated Worcester City 2-0 in the third qualifying round at the end of September and Bootle 4-1 in the first round proper last weekend.
Ties will be decided on the day as, if the teams are level after 90 minutes, the match will go straight to a penalty shootout.
If the original tie has to be postponed, it must be played on or before Thursday, November 19.
Confirmation of the match date, kick-off time and ticketing arrangements will be announced in due course.
