Troy Parrott went closest for North End in the second half but the visitors failed to register a shot on target throughout the 90 minutes.
The draw left PNE in 14th in the table, seven points away from the top six.
Here’s how we rated the players on the day...
9. Ben Woodburn - 6
Started the first half brightly with plenty of energy and good technical ability in tight spaces but faded as the game wore on. Photo: CameraSport - Alex Dodd
10. Alvaro Fernandez - 7
Like in midweek, Fernandez was again PNE's biggest attacking threat. His ability to just shift the ball and beat a man whilst not mind-blowing seems to be something exclusive to the Spaniard in the Preston side. Photo: CameraSport - Alex Dodd
11. Tom Cannon - 7
Was afforded very little service in the first half but has good intent about him and seems ready to make something happen, came more into the game in the second half and laid one on a plate that Parrott squandered. Photo: CameraSport - Alex Dodd
12. Liam Delap - 5
A tough half for the young City loanee before being hooked at the break. Just doesn't seem to be doing much at the moment, had a brief showing where he got a shot away but outside of the 18 yard box isn't helping PNE much. Photo: CameraSport - Alex Dodd
