Liam Delap’s deflected cross off Rovers defender Dominic Hyam gave Ryan Lowe’s men a vital point to keep their hopes of a play-off place alive, after Sam Szmodics had opened the scoring with less than 10 minutes to go.
Here’s how we rated the players on the day...
9. Josh Onomah - 7
He just oozes class in the middle of midfield and although he looked tired beyond the hour mark, he gives North End more attacking threat. They just need someone else to finish off the chances or situations he gets his side into. Photo: CameraSport - Alex Dodd
10. Alvaro Fernandez - 8
The Spaniard continues to look a cut above compared to most of the players he comes up against. He has composure on the ball and times his dribbles well, also seems to pick the right pass more often than not. Photo: CameraSport - Alex Dodd
11. Tom Cannon - 6
Cannon just couldn't really get into the game. He had a chance in the opening exchanges that he probably could have done better with but otherwise had little to go off and would sometimes try a little too hard to make a perfect chance. Photo: CameraSport - Alex Dodd
12. Troy Parrott - 6
Another player guilty of trying to make the perfect chance on the day, there were opportunities for the Irishman to get shots away and he refused them. Some nice moments of link up but few and far between. Photo: CameraSport - Rich Linley
