The Lilywhites were outmatched in the Lancashire derby, with Nathan Tella scoring a hat-trick to give the Clarets all three points and their 10th win on the spin.
PNE managed just two shots on target in the game and managed on 30 per cent possession in the contest on what was a tough afternoon for Ryan Lowe’s men.
Here’s how we rated them on the day...
5. Andrew Hughes - 6
Like Storey, Hughes was often not marking a man with the way Burnley set up and was more forced into covering for his wing back when he was beaten. Photo: CameraSport - Alex Dodd
6. Alan Browne - 6
A tough afternoon for North End's captain as he was up against Anass Zaroury who was very much enjoying himself. There can be sympathy for the Irishman who is being played out of position. Photo: CameraSport - Rich Linley
7. Ryan Ledson - 6
Ledson was largely left chasing shadows for the first half before being subbed off at half time, he could get nowhere near the ball but neither could the rest of the side. Photo: CameraSport - Rich Linley
8. Ali McCann - 6
McCann is normally the better of the performers in midfield and he was almost left carrying the can, generally getting the closest to the Burnley midfield but having no support in the press. Photo: CameraSport - Rich Linley
