The Lilywhites were outmatched in the Lancashire derby, with Nathan Tella scoring a hat-trick to give the Clarets all three points and their 10th win on the spin.
PNE managed just two shots on target in the game and managed on 30 per cent possession in the contest on what was a tough afternoon for Ryan Lowe’s men.
Here’s how we rated them on the day...
13. Ben Whiteman - 6
A half time sub for Ryan Ledson, Whiteman did at least put a couple of tackles in and looked like he was ready to fight, though he couldn't get close to the Clarets like the rest. Photo: Martin Rickett
14. Troy Parrott - 6
A half time sub but the Spurs loanee also couldn't get into the game, such was the dominance of Vincent Kompany's men. Photo: CameraSport - Rich Linley
15. Alvaro Fernandez - 6
Left chasing shadows as the Clarets eased to a win with just over 20 minutes to go. Photo: CameraSport - Rich Linley
16. Josh Onomah - 6
More important minutes into the legs of Onomah who admittedly still looks off the pace but will hopefully be important down the line. Photo: CameraSport - Rich Linley
