It is the intention of Lilywhites manager Simon Grayson to give some of his players more game time after limiting their use in the previous three friendlies with Bamber Bridge, Chorley and Fulham.

Chris Maxwell started between the posts, with fellow summer signings Simon Makienok, Eoin Doyle and Callum Robinson also in the starting XI.
