The main artery through which industry, commerce, and people travel in and out of Preston, the city’s historic railway station boasts not only a storied and long past, but an ever-changing face as well.

75. Preston Railway Station accident August 1st. 1903 Showing the northern end of platform 9 of Preston Railway Station. This accident was one of two that occurred here in that year. This incident took place during the August Bank Holiday of 1903. The masonary wall seen in the background is on Butler St. Fishergate bridge is behind the photographer. It was found that the driver of the offfending train was at fault for approaching the station too fast.
