Three of four lanes were closed following a crash on the M6 northbound between junctions 30 (Blacow Bridge Interchange) and 31 (Samlesbury Interchange) today (November 3).

Police, paramedics and traffic officers were called to the scene of the collision, which reportedly involved at least three cars, at around 1.50pm.

Motorists reported delays of over 20 minutes, with the incident causing severe delays back to junction 28 (Leyland Interchange) of the M6 and junction 9 (Clayton Brook Interchange) of the M61.

But Highways England has now confirmed all lanes have reopened and traffic has returned to normal.

A spokesman for Highways England said: "The M6 northbound J30 (Blacow Bridge Interchange M61) to J31 is now fully open."

It is not yet known if anyone was injured in the collision.
