M6 and M61 delays and lane closures in Preston due to emergency pothole repairs

There are delays on the M6 and M61 near Preston due to emergency pothole repairs this morning (Wednesday, July 27).

Two lanes are closed whilst work takes place on the M6 northbound between junctions 30 (M61 Interchange) and 31 (A59 Preston New Road, Samlesbury).

The repairs are affecting lanes 1 and 2, whilst lanes 3 and 4 remain open.

National Highways say the works are adding around 15 minutes to usual travel time as traffic moves slowly through the roadworks area.

The congestion caused by the repairs is also leading to delays of around 15 minutes for those heading north on the M61, between junction 9 and the M6.

It added that normal traffic conditions are expected to return between 8.30am and 8.45am.
