Lancashire Police said the cause of the fire was as yet unknown.

A spokesperson said: "There's a road closure in place, it's quite narrow there.

"There's no one injured, no one hurt."

Police said they expected the road to be reopened soon.

Four fire engines from Bacup and Rawtenstall were called to the incident.

Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels and an aerial ladder platform from Preston to bring the fire under control.

They are expected to remain at the scene until around lunchtime.
