Pub in heart of Tarleton to reopen with fresh new look and menu - here's when
The pub has previously been known as the Lord Lilford.
A pub at the heart of village life will reopen with a fresh new look and menu tonight.
The Village Inn, in Mark Square, Tarleton, has been taken over by Wayne Hopson and team, who also have The Greyhound in Barnoldswick.
Having been closed for the last three weeks, Wayne has overseen a major overhaul of the pub, including a new fireplace area, reworked bar, new tables and chairs, and internal decor. He's also taken out the gambling machines, but has kept the pool area and is installing an interactive darts board.
The aim is to give the pub a classic, but cosy look. He said: "This pub has had its ups and downs over the years, but this is a fresh new start and we couldn't be more excited. It will look cool, completely different to the look it had before."

Wayne said the overall character will be "proper traditional village pub meets relaxed wine bar", with real ales, premium and continental lagers, fine wines, as well as a good quality food menu, offering small plates, sandwiches, cakes and coffees during the day, and Sunday roasts. He added: "Think warm, stylish interiors, candlelit tables, cosy corners, great background music, friendly faces, fantastic service, quality food and drinks that have been chosen because they’re actually worth drinking."
Opening event
There will be free canopes for guests at the grand reopening tonight from 5pm, followed by live music at 7pm.
When fully up and running, the pub will employ between seven and eight members of staff. Wayne added: "I'm massively into hospitality, it's my passion. I believe that if you work hard, get the right people in, then you will succeed."
The Village Inn will also have dog-friendly areas.
