Preston Pride 2023: when is it, where is it and what to expect from performances to prices

What is Preston Pride?

The annual event, which has been running since 2012, celebrates diversity, promotes cohesion and challenges discrimination.

Held at the Preston Flag Market, each year the site is filled with live music, appearances and a variety of information stands and stalls.

Preston Pride is entirely ran by voluneers and this year is supported by Preston City Council, Community Gateway, BAE Systems, Zebra Technologies, Sanctuary, Carnell Support Services, Disability Equality North West and DENW.

When is it?

Preston Pride takes place this Saturday (September 23) between 10am and 4pm.

Do you have to pay?

Tickets are not required for Preston Pride, it is a free event that is open to all.

Who is performing at Preston Pride?

This year’s event is hosted by Gypsy Darling, a Manchester based drag artist and owner of the Little Carnival.

As well as the Pride Parade there will be performances from pride pop singer Smashby, Blackpool musician Passmore (who featured on BBC1’s Let It Shine), a sassy’ UK-based party and function band called The La La La’s, a Tina Tribute act, an artist called Evie, the Worldwise Samba Drummers, a group called The Lemon Men and the Singitbig choir.

Aside from spectating, can you get involved in other ways?

As a business you can

-Sponsor Pride: contact the organisers to see what corporate sponsorship packages are available.

-Book a stall: organisations can represent themselves and showcase their products or services at Preston Pride. Interested organisations should submit an ‘Expression of Interest‘ which will then be reviewed by the committee.

As an indivudal you can

-Volunteer! Everyone at Preston Pride is a volunteer, from the committee chair to the stage crew. If you are interested in volunteering, contact the organisers.

Are there any after parties?

There are official Pride After Party events being held at The Ferret, The Guild and Market Tavern.
