The family of a Preston mum have visited the Benidorm apartment where the 37-year-old tragically died earlier this year.
Mum-of-two Rachel Kay was found unresponsive by friends at her accommodation in the Spanish holiday resort on the morning of Sunday, March 29.
The mum-of-two was a friendly and familiar face to many from her years working at pubs in Preston, most recently at the Bears Paw in Church Street.

Her family were left devastated by her sudden death and hundreds of people lined the streets of Preston to pay their respects for her funeral procession, as her loved ones followed her stunning white horse and carriage on foot to St Joseph’s Church in Skeffington Road.
Rachel’s dad Mick said the family were overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and support from the community, with local pubs and businesses helping to raise funds to bring his daughter home.
Uncertainty about the cause of Rachel’s death has added to her family’s anguish and her family are still awaiting the results of her inquest from the Spanish authorities.

On Sunday, Rachel’s family flew out to Benidorm to visit the apartment complex where she sadly died. There were touching scenes as mum and dad Mick and Deb, Rachel’s teenage daughter Brooke, sisters Denise and Carla and brother Scott, along with her uncle, nieces and nephews - laid pink roses on the steps of the Apartamentos Horizon complex.
The family unfurled a banner for their ‘Special Kay’ in a heartbreaking yet healing moment under a clear blue sky in the Spanish sunshine.
“It was really tough but we thought we needed to do this,” said dad Mick, who proudly sported a Preston North End shirt with ‘Rachel 37’ on the back.
“It was very emotional, but we feel better for visiting her apartment and being here together as a family. We took some roses for her and we’ve raised a few glasses to our ‘Special Kay’.
