Candle-lit vigil for Chorley hairdresser and mum-of-5 Nicole Gorton after tragic death at 41
A candle-lit vigil is to be held outside the salon of a Chorley hairdresser after the mum-of-five’s tragic death at the weekend.
Hundreds of tributes have been paid to Nicole Gorton, 41, following her sudden passing, with people sharing their memories of a ‘beautiful girl with a beautiful soul’, ‘a big-heart’ and ‘a smile like a ray of sunshine’.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help support her five children, with more than 120 donations raising over £2,500 in 24 hours, and friends and customers will come together on Friday to celebrate Nicole’s life with a candle-lit vigil outside her salon in Anderton Street.
The vigil, organised by local mental health support group Just Talk, will take place outside her salon at 6.30pm and the gathering will light candles and sparklers to honour her memory.
Town pays tribute
Friends, customers, neighbours and those who didn’t know Nicole personally have shared their tributes to Nicole. These are just a small sample of those lovely sentiments shared on the Lancashire Post’s Facebook page...
“She was always giving to others and those in need whether it be her free time, lovely words or acts of kindness and genuine compassion,” said Maria Rachel. “Especially for people who seemed to be the most vulnerable in the world.”

“Nicole and I had our first babies, born on the same day, within the same hour and spent a week in hospital together navigating motherhood as two terrified young women,” said Chloe Brindle. “As you can imagine, we were friends ever since. Such a big heart, a generous personality and a gentle soul, beyond all else.”
“So, so heartbreaking, the outpour of love on social media shows how loved she was,” said Louisa MacLeod. “I didn't know her but know some who did and it sounds like she was a very special person.”

“I actually didn’t know this lady, but I know her beautiful face,” added Lisa Adamson. “I have seen her over the years around Chorley, and there was just something special about her.”
And her friend, Olivia Chase, said: “Nicole, you were a breath of fresh air, a shining light, anchor in the storms and simply an angel on our earth. You touched countless lives with your selfless spirit and will be missed so much, by so many.”
