A pedestrian has died after being struck by several vehicles on the M6 early this morning, police have confirmed.
Cheshire Police said officers were called at around 2.50am on Saturday, March 7 to reports of a serious collision on the M6 between junctions 21 and 21A near Warrington.
When officers arrived at the scene they found that a pedestrian had been hit by several vehicles. The pedestrian was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have confirmed the incident is linked to the closure of the M6 northbound between junction 28 (Leyland) and junction 30 (Bamber Bridge) in Lancashire.
Lancashire Police had earlier reported the stretch of motorway near Leyland had been closed due to an ongoing police incident, with motorists urged to find alternative routes.
National Highways said Cheshire Police requested assistance at 2.52am to implement a full closure on the motorway to allow officers to safely carry out investigations.
Traffic officers maintained the closure points and managed vehicles caught within the affected section of motorway.
The closure caused disruption across the wider motorway network, with traffic building on nearby routes including the M61 northbound towards junction 8 at Chorley as drivers attempted to join the M6.
National Highways has since confirmed the M6 northbound between junction 28 (Leyland) and junction 30 (Bamber Bridge) has now reopened following the conclusion of police investigation work.
Drivers have been warned to allow extra journey time while residual delays clear on the approach.
In a statement, Cheshire Police said: “At around 2.50am today, Saturday 7 March, police were called to reports of a serious collision on the M6 between junctions 21 and 21A.
