Parched Peas Podcast: We want Chew's Yard in Preston to be a place where everyone is welcome

Hosted by John 'Gilly' Gillmore the Parched Pea Podcast has taken listeners on a journey to meet some of the people who make the city tick and hear their stories. The sixth episode sees John sit down with Christine Cort of new hipster venue Chew’s Yard. Based in Market Street West, off Friargate, she talks through how the venue, bar and events space is evolving and signalling a new kind of development for Preston city centre.

From chess boards, to yoga sessions, running clubs, foodie options and more the brainchild of Ben Casey and Christine is put in the spotlight - and their hopes and dreams for the Friargate area of the city.

Christine said: "We want it to be a place where everyone is welcome. Students, OAPs, young people. Everyone is welcome at Chew’s Yard."

The Parched Pea Podcast is a collaboration between the Lancashire Post and Blog Preston, with Gilly exploring the people and places which make the city tick and will be available on Spotify, Apple and all other major podcast apps via Podfollow with new episodes being released each Wednesday.
