I’m the Editor of the Blackpool Gazette and the Lancashire Post managing the content for National World readers in Blackpool and the Fylde Coast and Preston and South Ribble. I write a mix of regional and hyper local content but specialise in local news, crime, human interest, retail, food & drink and travel. Originally from Poulton-le-Fylde, I completed my Post Graduate Diploma in journalism at the University of Central Lancashire after completing my degree at the University of Leeds. I have spent my working career in the North West covering predominantly Lancashire, Manchester and Cumbria. Prior to joining National World, I was the Regional Group Editor for Newsquest Cumbria editing the News & Star, The Mail, The Westmorland Gazette, The Whitehaven News, the Times and Star, The Cumberland News, The Hexham Courant, Cumbria Life, Carlisle Living, in-Cumbria, Tyne Valley Living and Dumfries and Galloway Life. I wrote about breaking news, human interest stories, lifestyle features, new businesses, new restaurants opening as well as hard hitting court content. The article I am most proud of involves the conviction of a woman who accused many innocent men of grooming and sexual violence only for it to be proved she had made it all up. We helped her victims clear their names so they could move on with their lives. In my spare time, I love to spend time with my family and travel - whether that is exploring a new little town in the UK or a long-haul trip to an exotic location. My favourite place I have ever visited is Lake Garda - thanks to the culture, sights to see and the cuisine.
