Preston city centre was empty

Lancashire Police Dog Unit posted a picture on social media of a deserted Fishergate in Preston at around midnight on Saturday night.

And earlier in the day a picture was posted of a deserted Beacon Fell, near Longridge.

Other spots including Rivington, traditionally a massive draw at Easter, were also empty as residents stayed at home.

Beacon Fell was deserted

Lancs Police Dog Unit said on Twitter: "Fishergate, Preston is empty.

"Thank you for sticking to the guidelines, protecting yourselves and our NHS.

"We know it’s hard, but please keep at it; you are making a difference."

Lancs Road Police posted: "We'd urge people to stay away from popular beauty spots.

"Fortunately Beacon Fell was totally deserted this afternoon.

We know it’s tough, especially at Easter, but it’s vital that people stick with the rules and stay at home. Thank you."
