Shocking images show car engulfed in flames near Chorley as investigation launched

An investigation has been launched after a car was destroyed by a fire in a Chorley village.

One fire engine rushed to extinguish a car blaze that had been reported in Higher House Lane, Heapey, shortly after 3.40am today (November 15).

Dramatic images from the scene show the car fully engulfed in flames and smoke billowing into the sky as a firefighter uses one hose reel to extinguish the blaze.

Firefighters have confirmed no injuries were reported and a police investigation into the cause of the fire is now underway.
