Missing Lancashire children found safe, confirm police

Two young children are 'safe and well' after being reported missing from their home in Lancashire at the weekend.

Princess Bennell, 16 months, and Scarlett Daffern, 4, had been missing for four days after disappearing from their home in Nelson on Saturday (July 18).

Police said they believed the girls might be in the company of their mum Kelly Rusling and a man "who is known to them".

The force said it had been concerned for their welfare and issued a missing person's appeal to help find them yesterday.

But this morning, the force confirmed that both Princess and Scarlett had been found 'safe and well'. It did not comment on the circumstances or location in which they had been found.

A police spokesman said: "Good news! Yesterday we asked for your help finding two children reported missing from Nelson.

"We can now confirm they have now been found safe and well. Thank you to everybody who supported and shared our appeal."
