On Thursday, March 2, a 19-year-old man attended Sanctuary Halls in Moor Lane around 10.15pm to visit a friend’s flat.

Once inside the address the victim was assaulted by a group of men, say police.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "Following an appeal for information, three men, all from Rochdale, were arrested yesterday on suspicion of false imprisonment.

"Kashif Hussain, 23, of Mark Street, Daniaal Khan, 18, of Exeter Street and Adil Ajaib, 23, of Exeter Street have been charged with assault, blackmail and false imprisonment."

All have been remanded to appear at Preston Magistrates’ Court on Friday, March 17.
