Man charged and named after break-in and indecent exposure incident in Burscough

A man has been charged by detectives investigating an offence of indecent exposure in Burscough.

Police were called to reports of a break-in at an address in New Lane at around 1.35am on Monday, February 22.

Officers discovered a man had entered the address but left after being disturbed.

However, police said a short time later he was seen "touching himself inappropriately" outside the same address.

Today (February 25), police confirmed Michael Shaw, 29, of no fixed address, has been charged with two offences of exposure and three offences of knowingly trespassing on premises with intent to commit a relevant sexual offence.

He is due to appear at Preston Magistrates’ Court later today.
