Four people were charged after drugs valued at more than £100k were recovered from a “factory producing cannabis sweets” in Rishton.

Officers found a large amount of cannabis and edibles after executing a drug warrant at an address in High Street, Rishton, in May.

The recovered drugs were valued at more than £100k, police said.

Three people from the Hyndburn area were arrested on Wednesday (June 29) and were later charged with being concerned in the production of cannabis.

They were due to appear before Blackburn Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (June 30).

A fourth person – Leonard Perkins, 31, of no fixed address – was earlier charged with being concerned in the production of cannabis.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “Cannabis edibles are made to look like sweets and are attractive to youngsters but they can contain high levels of THC.”

The three latest people to be charged were:

- Daniel Smedley, 32, of Walmsley Street, Rishton

- Kristen Hall, 28, of Spring Street, Rishton

- Richie Gardiner, 28, of Hermitage Street, Rishton,
