The car – a blue Ford Focus – collided with a cyclist on a green pedal cycle, before leaving the scene.

Police say the cyclist, a 38-year-old man from Accrington, suffered some cuts and grazing.

The male driver of the car was later traced and has now been spoken to but we would still like to hear from anybody who saw the incident.

PC Mark Potter, of Preston Police, said: “We would like to piece together exactly what occurred and we are now appealing to anybody who saw this incident to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information can contact Lancashire Police on 101 quoting log number 378 of May 14.
