Chorley residents should be 'vigilant' after copper theft, police say
Local residents and business should be ‘alert’ to suspicious activity.
Police in Chorley have called for local residents to be ‘vigilant’ after reports of copper thefts in the area.

At least one address was broken into this week with the intention of selling the stolen copper, which can sell for up to £6.45 per kilogram on the black market.
Officers have said that local residents should be alert to any unusual noises during the evening and overnight, and be on the lookout for suspicious activity - including loitering - around utility cabinets, building sites, industrial units, and empty buildings.
Local businesses are also asked to make sure their security systems are working correctly.
Reports of suspicious activity or theft can be made to Chorley Police via the 101 non-emergency number.
