Police said internal doors within the property had been barricaded in an apparent attempt to delay entry, but officers were able to gain access.

A 46-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drugs offences and remains in police custody.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “Looks like Santa wasn't out the only one checking addresses this Christmas - unfortunately for some, we arrived without the presents and with handcuffs instead.

“A big thank you to everyone in our community who continue to share information with us.

“Your support plays a vital role in helping us take action and keep our neighbourhoods safe.”
