18-year-old stabbed in 'unprovoked and cowardly attack' Preston

Police are appealing for information after the man was stabbed in the stomach whilst walking with friends on Martin Field Road at around 1.30am on Wednesday, July 20.

A force spokesman said the victim and his two friends were walking in the direction of Moss Acre Road when they were confronted by a man.

Following a minor disagreement, the man stabbed the victim to his stomach before making off up the ginnel at the side of Martin Field Primary School in the direction of Padway.

The victim was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he received treatment for a single stab wound to his stomach.

DS Jerry Sturgess of Preston CID said: “This was an unprovoked and cowardly attack which could have resulted in a life threatening injury. We are particularly keen to talk anyone who was near to the scene at the time of the incident who may have seen the suspect in the vicinity.”

The offender is described as white, aged in his late twenties, approximately 5ft 10in tall, lean build and was wearing a black hooded jackets, black pants and black trainers and spoke with a local accent.
