The Female Boss Live inspires and empowers at inaugural event

The Female Boss Live made its inspiring debut at The Wellbeing Farm in Bolton, bringing together an incredible lineup of women who shared stories of resilience, ambition and authenticity; all in a truly unique setting complete with a llama in a bow tie welcoming guests on arrival.
Hosted by Lindsey Stephens, Founder and Editor of The Female Boss Magazine, the event marked an exciting new chapter for the growing Female Boss community. Building on the success of the magazine’s launch earlier this year, The Female Boss Live brought its empowering mission off the page and into a real-world celebration of women in business who are breaking barriers and redefining success on their own terms.
The event featured a powerhouse lineup of speakers, including Beth Hope, Executive Coach, who spoke about self-acceptance and building inner confidence; Kate McLaren, professional boxer and Founder of It’s Her Foundation; and Michelle Niziol, former Apprentice star, property entrepreneur and self-made millionaire, who shared her remarkable journey from homelessness to success and her ongoing campaign to make childcare a taxable benefit for self-employed mothers.
Guests were also treated to a lively, fun and heartfelt founders panel, featuring Katherine Jones, Owner and Founder of ThinK Wines; Julie and Abigail Devenney, the mother-daughter duo behind Aftermed Skin; and Kate Hill, Founder of activewear brand Lola Starr. The panel offered honest, engaging insights into the challenges and triumphs of building successful female-led brands.
Headline sponsors Ward Hadaway Solicitors supported the event, which stood out for its refreshingly real approach. The Female Boss Live cut through the jargon and ditched the sales pitches, instead focusing on practical advice, meaningful connections and genuine conversations about what it means to thrive as a woman in business today.
Lindsey Stephens said: “I wanted to create an event that felt different; something real, fun and empowering. The Female Boss Live is about more than business, it’s about building confidence, connecting with others and celebrating women who are redefining what success looks like. Seeing the energy and emotion in the room today shows there’s such a strong appetite for honest, supportive spaces like this and I can’t wait to start planning the next event as we take the format on tour.”
