Lancashire Police seize £96,000 and Class B drugs in Nelson raid

The operation is part of Lancashire Police's response to tackling serious and organised crime in Lancashire

Nearly £100,000 and a large quantity of Class B drugs have been seized following a warrant at an address in Nelson.

Officers from the Prosper Partnership and Neighbourhood Policing Teams executed a drugs warrant at the house on Hardy Court, following a tip-off from a member of the public.

Inside, they found a large number of cannabis plants and £96,000 pounds in cash.

Two men aged 20 and 27 were arrested on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply and money laundering, and were taken into custody to be interviewed.

They have been released under investigation as enquiries continue.

Operation Warrior is Lancashire Police’s response to tackling serious and organised crime in Lancashire, supported by Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw.

It aims to target the individuals and gangs involved in crime, as well as associated issues such as violence and intimidation, large scale drug supply, exploitation, and fraud, all of which can cause serious harm to local communities.
