The Nightingales

The Nightingales, a comedy by Peter Quilter, tells the story of retired music hall performers Charlie and Beatrice who visit their son Jack, pianist in a cabaret act with his partner.

The action is set in the 1950s, a world in which everything is changing – except Charlie!

Now in their 57th year, this is the Players’ 133rd production. The group takes part in the One Act Play Festival and won in 2013 with Last Tango In Little Grimsargh. Mary Jones won best director for that production, and she will also call the shots in The Nightingales.

There is a bar at the theatre, a free programme, and parking is free across from the theatre (passes available in the foyer).

Tickets for the Wednesday show are £8, OAPs and children £7. Thursday, Friday and Saturday shows £9, £8 concs. Curtain up 7.30pm all nights.
