Houdini examines the life of brothers Harry Houdini and Theodore Hardeen, who enthralled audiences with their incredible escapes in the early 1900s.

The production stars BAFTA award-winning actor Stuart Brennan as Theo, Jamie Nichols as Harry, and Evanna Lynch – who played Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter – as Harry Houdini’s wife Bess.

It focuses on the careers of both men, who took the world by storm with their stunts, illusions and magic, and also on life in the aftermath of Harry’s untimely death in 1926.

The Hungarian-American died after being challenged by a student who punched him in the stomach before Houdini had chance to prepare himself.

He subsequently contracted peritonitis after his appendix ruptured, although there is some speculation that Houdini was already suffering appendisitis at the time of the incident.

Stuart Brennan (Theo) is known for his portrayal of boxing legend Howard Winstone in the film Risen, for which he was made an honorary World Boxing Champion in recognition of his performance.

Jamie Nichols (Harry) has a long list of theatre credits and has also appeared on TV in The Bill, Eastenders and Britain’s Secret Shame.

Evanna Lynch was cast in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the fifth in the series, when she was just 14, and also appeared in all the later films.

Houdini runs from Monday, September 16 until Saturday, September 21.

Tickets are priced from £11.50 and are available from The Grand’s website, blackpoolgrand.co.uk where you can select your own seat.
