A little magic in comic double bill

Chorley Little Theatre offers a comedy double-bill later this month with two Edinburgh Fringe-bound acts – Pete Firman and Stephanie Laing – on one night.

Pete Firman is the new poster-boy of British comedy magic, a fluent prestidigitator with a fine line in patter.

The star of BBC1’s The Magicians and the UK’s leading comedian/magician, Pete, right, will be previewing a host of previously unseen tricks and jokes which will shortly be tickling ribs in Scotland’s fair capital.

Pete is already a familiar face after being seen on numerous shows including The Sarah Millican Television Programme, Celebrity Mastermind, BBC3’s Edinburgh Comedy Fest Live and Channel 4’s Comedy Mash-Up.

Expect his trademark blend of crowd-pleasing comedy and jaw-dropping magic.

Joining Pete on Saturday, June 27, from 7.30pm, will be Stephanie Laing with her new show Nincompoop.

It has come to Stephanie’s attention she is a very silly woman. As proof, her show will include odd noises, several drawings of ducks, a confession about vomit, and a song about a newt.

She’s not out to save the world – she’s just trying to get by without making too much of a mess on the carpet.
