Remarkably, this will be the 198th Garstang Show - and organisers hope it will be the best yet.

Among the fun on the showfield, Off Green Lane East, in the market town, will be equestrian stunts courtesy of the Galloping Acrobatics, a children’s treasure hunt, performances from the Rhythm Alley Drumming Circle, fun with the Blackpool Circus School and much more.

On show will be the cream of farm stock from across the area, including numerous breeds of light horses, Shire Horses sheep, cattle and furred and feathered animals. There will showjumping in the main arena.

Visitors can enter their family pet in the Companion Dog Show or serious breeders can compete in the Kennel Club Dog Show.

There will be fascinating displays of countryside crafts and occupations, including demonstrations by farriers, basket makers, flour grinders and more.

Blackpool Circus School will be showing off their skills to the crowds and passing on a few tricks of the trade.

There will be marquees packed with horticulture, crafts, food and more, along with lots of trade stands, live music from folksters Wagon Town and the Rhythm Alley Drumming Circle and a Hog Roast until 8pm.

Advance tickets are £9.60 for adults or £12 on the day, for children £1.60 or £2 on the day or family tickets at £20 or £28 on the day.
