Beware the ticket in-spectre on this ghost train from Preston
It will be all fright on the night … so beware of the ticket in-spectre! That’s the warning to passengers catching a real-life Halloween ghost train to Britain’s most haunted castle.

And just to make things even scarier, it will be hauled from Preston by two Class 57 heritage diesel locomotives which are nicknamed “Bodysnatchers” by rail enthusiasts.
Organisers promise “spooky entertainment and mischievous company” during the trip to the Family Halloween Festival at Muncaster Castle in Cumbria on Monday, October 26.

First-class passengers will be served complimentary refreshments during the journey while every child on the train will be given a special Halloween pumpkin.
Muncaster Castle features a scary maze, spooky trails, monster parades and a costume contest in the gardens as well as a spine-tingling Zombie-Boggle Apocalypse show indoors.
The train departs from Preston at 9.17am and then picks up more passengers at Lancaster, Carnforth and Ulverston. It is scheduled to arrive back in the city at 7.40pm.
Fares, including entrance to the castle, are £59.50 for adults, and £49.50 children. But you can get a 10% discount by using the code Scary10. To book, go: www.westcoastrailways.co.uk/the-muncaster-express/details
