Astley View care home supports local charity and Community in Need this Christmas

Astley View Care Home in Chorley has donated food and Christmas presents to local community charity SVP Chorley Buddies, reflecting its commitment to supporting not only the residents who live at the care home, but also people across the wider Chorley community who may need extra help this winter.

The donation will support SVP Chorley Buddies’ work providing befriending, shopping support, social activities and food clubs for local people who are experiencing isolation or hardship. Astley View has purchased food items which will be shared with members of the local community in need in the run-up to Christmas.

The funds were raised through recent festive activities held at the care home, which brought together residents, families and local visitors. While the events provided a chance for residents to enjoy the season and spend time with loved ones, staff were keen to ensure the outcome made a meaningful difference beyond the home’s walls.

Christina Durnan, Registered Manager at Astley View Care Home, said: “Being part of the local community is incredibly important to us. We don’t just support the people who live at Astley View - we want to play an active role in Chorley and support organisations that make a real difference locally. SVP Chorley Buddies do wonderful work, and we are really pleased to be able to contribute to the support they provide for people who need it most.”
