120 Lancashire students explore future careers with leading Preston retailer
One of Lancashire's leading independent retailers has welcomed more than 120 local secondary school students behind the scenes to showcase the wide range of careers available within the home improvement and design sector.

ROCCIA, a Preston-based tile, bathroom, and kitchen specialist, recently hosted two Future Careers events for Year 10 students from Eden Boys' School. Students toured ROCCIA's showroom and met employees from departments including Sales, Bathroom Design, Marketing, and skilled tradespeople.

The initiative aims to address skills shortages in the construction, design, and skilled trades sectors by inspiring young people to consider careers in the home improvement industry. Huzaifa Sidat, Marketing Lead at ROCCIA, stated the company wanted to showcase the diverse range of opportunities available, from design and marketing to finance and skilled trades.

During the visit, students inquired about different roles, career paths, and apprenticeships, and heard firsthand experiences from employees. Talha Patel, Head of Year at Eden Boys' School, commended the event, noting it brought careers education to life and illustrated various routes to a successful career.

The Future Careers Days are part of ROCCIA's commitment to supporting the local community through investment in future talent and the development of industry skills. ROCCIA welcomed enthusiastic students to its showroom.
